- Waterproofing firstMembrane and sealed corners in showers and wet floors. This is the part you never see and the part that fails if it is skipped.
- Layout before adhesiveWe set reference lines and dry-lay so cuts land in the least visible place, not split across the middle of a wall.
- Levelling clips where neededLarge-format tile lippage is the most common complaint about a tile job. Clips and the correct trowel prevent it.
- Clean cuts and terminationsOutlets, niches, valves and edges cut tight, with proper trim or mitred returns instead of caulk filling a gap.
- Sealed grout and handoverGrout sealed where the material calls for it, haze cleaned off, silicone at movement joints.

Water shutoff has to be scheduled
Most buildings need notice to shut a riser, and some only allow it on weekdays. We coordinate with your super before demo day.

Wet-over-dry rules
Some boards restrict moving a wet area over a neighbour's dry room. Worth checking before you commit to a new shower location.

Old mortar beds
Pre-war bathrooms often sit on a thick mud bed. Removing it is heavier work than pulling up modern tile, and it changes the demo price.

Debris removal is not free in most buildings
Tile demo produces a lot of weight. We confirm how your building wants it taken out before we start.

How much does tile installation cost in NYC?
With ONIITO, floor tile labor is $11–$14 per square foot and wall tile is $13–$18, against typical New York rates of $14–$18 and $16–$22. A standard 40 sq ft bathroom floor starts at $520. Large-format and mosaic are $18–$24.
Is waterproofing included?
It is a separate line at $4.00–$5.60 per square foot so you can see exactly what you are paying for, and we will not tile a shower without it.
Do you install large-format tile?
Yes. Anything 24×48 and up gets levelling clips, back-buttering and a substrate flatness check first, which is why it is priced higher than standard format.
How long does a bathroom take?
A full bathroom retile is usually five to eight working days including demo, waterproofing cure time and grouting. A floor alone is one to two days.
Can you match existing tile for a repair?
Sometimes. Bring us a spare tile or a photo with a ruler in it. Discontinued sizes are the usual problem, not colour.
